'Lemon-Yellow and Fig' is an unexpected story by Karan. The story shows how guiltless men are rebuffed for no deficiency. The occurrences in the story happen around Mr. Agrwal-the sales rep. He is a focal character in the story.
Mr. Agarwal is a displaced person from Punjab. He has come to Mumbai looking for work. He has addressed a promotion. He has been met by Mr. Ratnam. Mr. Ratnam has a factory in Bangalore. Saris and choli pieces are woven there. They are sold in his shop in Mumbai. Agarwal is chosen as a Salesman since he has a legitimate face.
Mr. Agarwal is a legitimate man. He is genuine and persevering. He has charming habits with the clients. He has no insight of charismatic skills, yet he improves deals more than a past sales rep. He has blushing fantasies about getting hitched and settling down in Mumbai.
Mr. Agrwal's life takes an abrupt turn. Two woman clients visit the cleanser consistently. They have utilized a similar scent. He feels that they have a place with a similar family. He accepts them as pranksters. He reviews an episode where a businessperson was cheated by two woman clients with 100 rupee notes. To be protected, he sends a 100 rupee note to his sibling working in a close-by shop.
In the meantime, Mr. Ratnam visits the shop. He checks the stock and money. He tracks down 100 rupee notes missing. Mr. Agrwal can't disclose it to Mr. Ratnam. He loses his employment.
What an incongruity? A genuine man is charged with untruthfulness. He loses his employment. Mr. Agrwal is a storyteller of the entire story.
